Each of the pieces for the fountain were made in the studio. There are probably no pieces over 180 lbs. A template of the pond opening was made out of plywood and set up on milk crates so I could piece the entire thing together before installation. Openings for the water supply were made as I went so the tubing could be run as the pieces were placed together. I kind of goofed in a couple of places and had to chisel around some openings so the tubing would not kink. |

Can you spot the piece that was replaced? The water in the second basin from the top was meant to flow out of its spout and plunge into the pool. Although I chiseled and scraped underneath the spout quite a bit the water continued to cling to the surface and dribble into the basin under it. Finally I just made a different piece that is similar to the zig-zag piece below it and replaced it altogether. The picture below shows the final arrangement of the fountain. |
